thank you guys for coming down specially to support us(:

been real busy lately due to camp and cheer competition.
im relieved its finally over.
Well, i shall start off with cheer first.

* READY, OK!*
both adastra senior and junior team clinched the 4th postition in SKM cheerfest 2008.

we were somewhat taken aback by the results.
it was nothing but disappointment.
whatever it is, i know we did our best.
it was way better than the previous performance.
we are not losers.
so cheer up guys!
we are CHEERLEADERS (:

thats about it for cheer, i have more to update on the adventure camp. somehow im very lazy to do so, but if i don't Chua ZhiLun is gonna come after me!

DAY1
-depart to rainforest adventure centre from school.
its like departing from heaven to hell
-orientation and ice breakers.
-lunch ( some yucky food that caused all campers to suffer food poisoning)
- *highlight of the day: Pelepah waterfall expedition
weather wasn't too good as it was drizzling
walked through forest, muddy ground and streams for 2h before reaching exact location of the waterfall.
nevermind about being dirty and wet, whats important is that all of us had fun (:
-headed back to campsite, dinner and debrief.
did not have any night activities as we were all worn out
-accommodation: Resort Chalet :D
lucky us to have proper toilets to bath and shit in because we all had diarrhoea.
i didnt sleep well that night as the pain was unbearable and i miss home. for the first time in camp i actually cried. ):
how embarrassing.

DAY2
everyone looked sick and listless, strained from shitting i guess.
nevertheless we still looked forward to the activities ahead.

-had nature training elements in the morning, activities that helped to enhance team bonding.
-*highlight of the day: Johor River Expedition

kayakKAYAKkayakkayak. i love kayaking (:
i feel that i've became stronger after that as i didnt stop to rest throughout the 1h plus of rowing. despite having to kayak in the heavy rain, we didnt grumble. In fact we love the rain, we love to get wet.
SMILES.
-fireflies river cruise was magnificent.
a pity we cant see that in singapore.
so beautiful. so illusory.
(janelle: if only sheep was there)
awww..lovey dovey ^^
okay, back to reality.
-Accommodation: TENTS
it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be expect for those annoying mosquitoes that left 20 bites on my legs.

DAY3
*highlight of the day: Gunung Panti Expedition
this was the day we were all dreading.
we don't want to camp overnight at the summit as shit was all over due to the people who stayed there the first night.
however i managed to convince myself that we are all in this together and we shall conquer the mountain as a whole.
-and so, off we went.
-514metres isn't as high as it may seem, but it was an arduous journey up due to those expedition bags that contained our food and water supply.
-we were tired and wanted to give up at times but the motivation and encouragement from the class made us move on.
-upon reaching the summit, it started pouring.
-the conditions there were deleterious and it was impossible for us to stay overnight.
by hook or by crook we have to unpitch all the 40 tents and bring it back to campsite and so the task was left in the hands of the guys.
Meanwhile the girls were to carry all the expedition bags down the mountain and descend as quickly as possible because the sun was setting.
-it was very muddy, wet, slippery, dirty and dark.
we were famished and exhausted but it didn't bother us much as all we wanted was to get out of the forest.
-we continued moving forward and soon after the guys caught up and it boosted our morale.
we quicken our pace and finally got out of the forest. all thanks to those instructors from other groups who came to our rescue.
it was already 9.30pm when we reached the campsite.
-9hours of trekking in the forest without food, cant believe i actually survived!
i was soooo proud of myself and felt a sense of achievement for being able to conquer the mountain and came down in a day.
-As it was a last minute kinda thing, accommodation was girls: conference room (air-conditioned)
poor guys have to sleep in the canteen with those bugs and flies.

DAY4

-woke up slightly later, didn't do much except for washing of tents.
-janelle and i volunteered
well, we just love to get wild and wet. (:
-lunch
-debrief and sharing
it was more like an appreciation session where everyone make heart wrenching speeches and heartfelt thanks to friends/classmates.
24A: you guys definitely make this camp worthwhile for me.
thanks for all the fun, joy and laughter.
you go, guys!

Finally im done with this entry, felt more like an essay tho.
but its okay, im satisfied!
enjoy (:
